Solsticio
Has Arrived!
After several years of hard work, long nights and air miles, our
long-awaited first shipment of Solsticio Malbec and Torrontes has
arrived. Now comes the fun part bringing our wines to you! We’ve
been busy meeting with restaurant and retail wine buyers in the Los
Angeles area, and look forward to expanding our presence in the
weeks and months ahead. We now have two babies that have come to
fruition in the last year: Casey Lauren Kot (vintage September
2008), and Solsticio. Salud!
Wall Street Journal: Malbec Beckons – Heed the Call
“The explosive emergence of Malbec from Argentina is like
nothing we’ve seen since the sudden rise of Merlot more than a
decade ago, and this is even more interesting: While much of Merlot’s
attraction was that it was smooth and easy, Malbec is more
challenging, with spicier, edgier tastes and it’s from a
foreign country, too. We decided it was clearly time to revisit this
phenomenon with this question in mind: How is Malbec handling its
newfound fame?” Check out the full article here.
Wall Street Journal: A Sunny Torrent of Torrontes
“Imagine a nose of light orange blossoms; tastes of lime,
grapefruit, mango and peach; a subtle undertone of minerals; and a
long, clean, crisp, tangy finish. These are pure, sunny wines
dry
yet fruity with light, easy and yet interesting tastes that would
go well with any summer event. And, because they aren't yet
well-known, the prices are great.” Read more here.
